Parking at Newark Airport Breakdown
Before you start looking at prices and booking options, you need to figure out which type of parking is right for you. There are three types of parking at Newark airport:
- Short term parking
- Daily parking
- Economy parking
There are three terminals at Newark Airport: Terminals A, B, and C. They are all serviced by these three parking options. Finding the best airport parking spot will depend on your purpose.
Short-term parking is for drop-offs and pick-ups at Newark Airport. Daily parking is also for drop-offs and pick-ups further away from the airport. Economy parking is the only long-term parking option based even further away from the airport.
Short Term Parking
There is no option for free drop-offs and pick-ups. If you intend to wait anywhere for any length of time, you will need to pay to park at Newark Airport. Short-term parking is available at all three terminals.
The current costs for short-term parking at Newark Airport are:
- 1/2 an hour = $4
- Each additional 1/2 hour = $4
- Maximum 24 hours = $39
You can either drive up and pay for short-term parking via card or cash or pre-book a slot online. Booking is a great idea because these parking spaces are far more popular than any other and you will pay a cheaper price.
Daily Parking
If you would like to park your car at Newark Airport on a short-term basis but do not mind being further away from the airport, choose daily parking. It is available in Garage P4 and you can take the AirTrain from the parking lot to any of the three terminals.
The current costs for daily parking at Newark Airport are:
- 1/2 an hour = $4
- Each additional 1/2 hour = $4
- Maximum 24 hours = $34
Cash is not accepted at the daily parking lots. Daily parking is often far less busy than economy parking. This is likely due to the fact it is not much cheaper but it is further away from the airport.
It is still cheaper to book ahead online than pay the on-the-spot cost.
Economy Parking
This is the only long-term parking option. You can park your car here for the duration of your trip. Economy parking is available in Garage P6 and you can take shuttles from the parking lot to any of the three terminals.
The current costs for economy parking at Newark Airport are:
- First 24 hours = $18
- Each additional eight hours = $8
- Maximum 24 hours = $18
Though it is unlikely economy parking is full, it is a good idea to book ahead so you can be sure you will have a parking space for your vacation. If you are about to take a trip abroad and you do not have parking organized, you will limit your options!
There are also parking options available for those with restricted mobility.
