The Program

Assist patients and families throughout their lives by earning an MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner. You will gain advanced skills in patient assessment, disease management, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and population health.

The CCNE-accredited program offers the flexibility of an online format that allows you to study when it’s convenient for your life and career. Our curriculum is built upon a foundation of six core Master’s courses and three specialty preparation courses. You’ll also participate in simulated clinical experiences and skills labs in our state-of-the-art Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation. Plus, you’ll complete 550 precepted direct care clinical hours in diverse community primary care settings.

Our high-tech, learner-centered curriculum is designed to advance your nursing skills and knowledge at the advanced practice level. Using evidence-based practice guidelines, you’ll explore how to make a difference in individual patients and entire families, communities, the nursing profession, and the system level.

Our MSN program also offers four other specialty tracks, including the Nurse Educator concentration that prepares nurses to teach at the associate and baccalaureate degree levels and the Nursing Education and Leadership track that prepares nurses for clinical practice leadership positions in academic or healthcare settings. These options and our nurse faculty loan program enable you to advance your career and help shape the future of healthcare.

The Pathway to Excellence designation helps healthcare organizations demonstrate a commitment to providing a positive nursing practice environment that empowers and engages nurses.

The Family Nurse Practitioner program prepares nurses for national board certification through clinical expertise and nursing leadership. This graduate program will prepare you to diagnose and treat patients of all ages, from adolescents to the elderly.

You will complete a proven FNP certification review course for your final semester. This course will help you meet ANCC/AANP certification requirements and begin practicing nationally and internationally as an FNP. You will also have the opportunity to apply for a post-graduate nursing residency.
