Indian stock market timings either NSE or BSE can be divided into 3 sessions
- The Pre-order session (9:00 AM to 9:15 AM)
The duration of the pre-open session is exactly 15 minutes it further broke into 3 sub-sessions
- Order Entry Session
From 9:00 AM to 9:08 AM (8 Minutes) – placing an order to buy, sell, modify, and cancel the order.
- Order Matching Session
From 9:08 AM to 9:12 AM (4 Minutes) – During this time you cannot buy, sell, modify and cancel the order only order confirmation and matching.
- Buffer Session
From 9:12 AM to 9:15 AM (3 Minutes) – This session is important as any abnormalities that occur in the above two sessions can be corrected.
- Normal Market Session (9:15 AM to 3:30 PM)
This is the normal time when people trade i.e. the regular session of trading. In this session when buying and selling matches transactions will be completed.
- Post-closing session (3:40 PM to 4:00 PM)
During this post-closing session, normal traders cannot trade. At the closing price of stock buying and selling is done during this session.
